Central Iceland toward the East - 12 days
arrow_backTo the overviewJoin us on this journey, where you will experience Iceland’s magnificent east coast and the interior highlands.
The east coast offers some of Iceland’s most unique gems, from glacier lagoons with small icebergs and green meadows rich in birdlife to raw lava fields and waterfalls that will undoubtedly impress. Together, we travel along Iceland’s mountain roads, where nature is allowed to exist undisturbed.
Experience the Westman Islands, one of Iceland’s most fascinating island communities. Here, dramatic rock formations rise from the sea, and birdlife is abundant. You will also experience some of Iceland’s most distinctive natural wonders - such as the world-famous Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, where icebergs drift quietly by, and the impressive Skaftafell National Park with its striking landscapes.
The journey continues into the center of Iceland, also known as the Highlands. Here, a raw and untouched world awaits, with black sand deserts, glacial rivers, and colorful rhyolite mountains. The Highlands also offer one of the tour’s major highlights: the Askja volcano, where you can see the beautiful crater and the turquoise Lake Viti. Many describe the experience as standing on another planet - and that is exactly how it feels to travel through the Highlands.
This journey thus takes you to some of Iceland’s most varied and spectacular landscapes - from the island community of the Westman Islands to the dramatic east coast and the raw Highlands, with Askja as the crowning highlight.
