Experience a Total Solar Eclipse in Iceland’s Majestic Landscape

On 12 August 2026, a total solar eclipse can be witnessed in Iceland - a rare and fascinating celestial event that is seldom visible from Europe. For a brief moment around midday, the sun disappears behind the moon, and the light changes dramatically.

On this trip, the solar eclipse is the main highlight, but we will also experience some of Iceland’s iconic attractions, such as the Golden Circle and a stay in Reykjavik. The tour is led by K. Torben Rasmussen, and astronomer and science communicator Ole J. Knudsen will join the journey, explaining the background of the phenomenon before, during, and after the eclipse.

Prior to departure from Denmark, Ole J. Knudsen will also be available to provide guidance on technical equipment and other tips to enhance your experience. He will also give an introductory lecture in Aarhus in 2025.
