Celtic Ireland, Past and Present - 8 Days
arrow_backTo the overviewExperience Celtic Ireland
This group trip is a cultural journey focusing on Celtic Ireland. We travel through the northern half of Ireland, visiting both well-known and lesser-known places that many tourists never reach. The journey shows how Celtic influence has shaped Ireland’s culture, mindset, and society, and continues to do so today.
Along the way, we visit ancient Celtic sacred sites and temples, hear the legends of Queen Maeve and Cúchulainn, and stay in the country’s largest Gaelic-speaking area. You will receive a thorough introduction to the laws, values, and spirituality of Celtic society and experience the living tradition through music and storytelling, as it has been passed down for centuries. The trip also includes some of Ireland’s most breathtaking coastal landscapes, with opportunities for short hikes along the Atlantic.
We stay in smaller, locally owned hotels and guesthouses, giving access to vibrant local town life with small shops, restaurants using local ingredients, and pubs with traditional live music as well as the unique atmosphere found only outside the most visited areas.
In many ways, this journey takes us 100 years back in time with Gaelic songs (sean-nós) and storytelling, giving you a tangible insight into Irish culture, mindset, and history. In short: an authentic, unspoiled Ireland full of personality and presence. This is a cultural journey for curious travelers who want to delve into Ireland’s Celtic roots.
