Iceland is a geothermal paradise, where the earth's internal heat creates unique natural phenomena like lagoons and hot springs. These two terms are often used interchangeably, but they differ in several ways. Hot springs are natural, often rustic basins or rivers, heated by geothermal energy directly from the earth’s underground. Lagoons, on the other hand, are often man-made or adapted facilities where geothermal water is channeled in to create a more luxurious and structured experience. However, both offer a special opportunity to relax in nature’s own spa and experience Iceland’s raw beauty up close.
